Welcome to Good Shepherd Catholic Church

“Go and set out for Galilee”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Lord is risen, Alleluia! On this greatest Feast of the triumph of God I wish you all the blessings of Easter. The Resurrection of Christ from  death is the penultimate act of God’s love and power.

At the entrance of the tomb, He reassured Mary, to not be afraid, for it was Him, Jesus who has risen from the dead. Immediately, he sent her to “Go and  tell  my brothers to set out for Galilee; there they will see me.” (Mt.28:10)

After the very exhausting days following the death of Jesus, the Apostles did not only feel physically drained but were so afraid and uncertain about the future. The news, therefore, that Jesus is risen, was enough for Peter to run to where Jesus was laid, but he did not find him there. Instead, he was told to go to Galilee for Jesus is waiting for him and all the other Apostles.

This message of Jesus to set out to Galilee is also His message to each and every one of us. The joy of knowing He is risen does not end there. He asks us to live the Spirit of Easter—to meet Him in Galilee where he did his ministry and be ready to be sent to do His mission.

Our Parish is like the Galilee where Jesus wants us to meet with Him. It is here where He wants us to know more of God’s love and deepen our faith in him through Scripture and the Sacraments. It is here in our parish where we hear Jesus’ summon to each and every one of us, to “go out, proclaim the Good News and teach to fulfill what He commanded us to do” (Mt. 28:19-20), which is , “to put on love, which binds everything in perfect harmony”. (Col. 3:14).

We have set out to fulfill God’s plan that we grow as a loving and nurturing community serving others with our God-given talents and gifts” through our parish pastoral renewal program.

As we pray that the Risen Christ bless our endeavor, we also ask Him to bless you and all your loved ones.

Here we are!  We are excited to announce the launching of our improved website thanks to the hard work of our Communication Committee. Our improved website will help us to utilize new means of communication in order to reach out to as many parishioners as possible within our parish and beyond. This is still a work in progress, we are just starting this part of our journey. We are counting on your creative feedback, ideas and suggestions on how to improve our website further.

One of the three priority goals of our parish RENEWAL is Awareness Building.  Our website is our platform for communication, for exchange of ideas, insights and inspiration. It is also a vehicle to strengthen cooperation, coordination and collaboration in the parish and our interactive tool for EVANGELIZATION.

What a wonderful time to start to introduce all this in the season of Lent! There is joy and pain in every renewal, there are challenges to hurdle and at the end everything will redound to what is good for our parish. There is no Easter Sunday without Good Friday. There is always LOVE and HOPE in rebirth.

Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for your shared gifts and talents of continued cooperation and support to our Journey Towards Becoming a Community of Christ’s Missionary Disciples.

Let’s keep continuing to move forward. Our Good Shepherd is with us.
